PUBLIC EVENTS Calendar

The events shown in the Club's Public Events Calendar are open to everyone; you do not have to be a member of the Club to attend these events.

These events provide an opportunity for Potential Members to meet current Members to see if the Club will be a good fit for them. Former Members have the opportunity to reconnect with the friends and acquaintances they met while they were in the Club and to meet current Members.  We look forward to seeing you at these fun events, which include Cheers, TGIF, Walking the Waterfront, and Hiking.

    • Hendry's Beach 2981 Cliff Dr (next to the entrance of The Boathouse restaurant) Santa Barbara, CA, 93109

Join fellow walkers at Hendry's Beach (aka Arroyo Burro Beach County Park) every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8:40 to walk the beach, visit, make new friends and catch up with old friends, spot whales and dolphins, and get fresh air and exercise. We'll meet at the top of the stairs down to the beach, between The Boathouse restaurant and the lifeguard stand. Some of us walk fast, and some of us stroll. We suggest wearing appropriate shoes to walk on the beach or up to the nearby Douglas Preserve, when the tide is high. After the walk, we will often gather at the picnic tables near our starting point, and share a snack and conversation. Hope to see you there!

    • Rattlesnake Canyon Trailhead

    Several Water Crossings!

Rattlesnake Canyon Trail. We will hike the beautiful Rattlesnake Canyon trail on Friday.  This is one of Santa Barbara's most popular trails.  (The Rattlesnake Trail is named for its curves, not creatures).

Rattlesnake is a moderately difficult hike with 3 water crossings. A more strenuous option continuing to Gibraltar Rd. from the meadow area is possible (if open) for those who wish.  The main group will hike the familiar trail to and from the meadow.  This is an out and back hike - go at your own pace and turn back anytime.

Bring hiking poles to help with stream crossings.

Hiking Distance:  3.0 miles out and back to the meadow with an elevation  gain of 1000 '.For those going up to Gibraltar Rd.  it is 4.5 miles out and back with a total with 1600' of elevation gain.

Hiking times: 2-2.5 hours  (go at your own pace).

    • The Valley Project, 116 East Yanonali St, Santa Barbara, California, 93101

Come celebrate Friday at The Valley Project in the Funk Zone! In true holiday spirit, The Valley Project will be pouring special promotional wines at festive seasonal prices, offering cheerful holiday snacks, and even raffling off something extra special.

You know that feeling when you step into a place and instantly love it because it’s visually striking and full of character? That’s The Valley Project in Santa Barbara. The tasting room is bright and inviting, featuring a stunning wall-sized chalk mural behind the bar that’s not only impressive, but wonderfully educational. Whether you’re sipping at the counter or relaxing at one of the rustic wooden tables, you can explore Santa Barbara’s wine regions and microclimates just by looking up.

TGIF events are a great way to kick off the weekend in a fun, relaxed setting. At TGIF, you'll make new friends, reconnect with familiar faces, and get to know the local restaurants and bars. No registration is required—these events are open to Newcomers and graduates, and attendees are welcome to bring a friend along. Come join us, Newbies!

This is a pay-as-you-go event. Please note that tips are not included in the price of food and beverages. Kindly tip your servers and bartenders when you order (SBNC recommends tipping 20% or more). We want to leave a positive impression in the community and stay true to the Club’s values by treating everyone with respect.
