The Lovers Loop Trail is a 4.1 mile hike through rolling hills, oak forest and flower filled meadows. The trail up offers spectacular views of Figueroa Mountain's poppy and spring flower bloom. There are several stream crossings which are not too difficult. The hike will take about 2.5 hours to complete. There is an option for a strenuous hike up Grass Mountain for those who are so inclined for a challenge. After the hike. we can stop by Los Olivos for lunch. Dogs on leash are welcome.
This hike is located near Los Olivos. The driving distance from Santa Barbara is around 40 miles and it will take about 60 minutes to reach the trailhead - but it is worth the trip! You can organize a car pool or meet us at the trail by 8:30 am. You're required to obtain a free parking pass upon arrival so try to be at the parking lot by 8:15am.
Directions
To get to the trailhead: From Santa Barbara, take the 154W/San Marcos Pass Rd towards Los Olivos. After 24 miles, at the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit and stay on 154W/San Marcos Pass Rd. Continue 5.3 miles then turn right onto Figueroa Mountain Rd. You will see the parking lot on the right after 7 miles. You will need to get a free parking pass from the station at the upper parking lot.
