Come celebrate the 20th anniversary of this charming, thoughtful and engaging film! 

Sideways directed by Alexander Payne was released on 10/22/04 and nominated for 5 Academy Awards. The story follows Miles (Paul Giamatti) and Jack (Thomas Haden Church) as a comically mismatched pair who embark on a wine tasting road trip, just as one is about to get married. The film also stars Virginia Madsen, nominated for an Oscar for her role as Maya and Sandra Oh who plays Stephanie.

Some of the wineries that gained notoriety from the film include Firestone, Foxen, Fess Parker, Kalyra, Zaca Mesa and Sanford, all located in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Movie Trivia...in one of the most famous scenes of the film, Miles has a tantrum and shouts "If anyone orders Merlot, I'm leaving!" causing a measurable decline in the sale of Merlot wine at the time.
