Several Water Crossings!
No hike if raining
Rattlesnake Canyon Trail – 8:30 am. We will hike the beautiful Rattlesnake Canyon trail on Friday. This is one of Santa Barbara's most popular trails. (The Rattlesnake Trail is named for its curves, not creatures).
Rattlesnake is a moderately difficult hike right now with the 3 water crossings. A more strenuous option continuing to Gibraltar Rd. from the meadow area is possible (if open) for those who wish. The main group will hike the familiar trail to and from the meadow. This is an out and back hike - go at your own pace and turn back anytime.
Bring hiking poles to help with stream crossings and ziploc bags for electronics.
Hiking Distance: 3.0 miles out and back to the meadow with an elevation gain of 1000 '.For those going up to Gibraltar Rd. it is 4.5 miles out and back with a total with 1600' of elevation gain.
Hiking times: 2-2.5 hours (go at your own pace).
