CYCLING

SANTA BARBARA TO MAIN ST. VENTURA

29, 41 or 53 MILES

Saturday, May 14th --  8:00AM - 12:00PM

This week's ride has options and takes us down the coast to either Faria Beach Park or downtown Ventura Main St Ventura for coffee and pastries. The moderate choice is starting at Bates Road, but for those who like a longer ride—you are on your own to get from Andree Clark Bird Refuge or Santa Claus Lane to meet us at Bates Road.  Depending on how many miles you are interested in riding you can go a little as 14 miles or as many as 53 miles. This ride is nearly entirely flat and has miles and miles of ocean views.

Start time for the ride is 9:00AM at Bates Road (Rincon Parking Lot).  Those wishing to start at the Bird Refuge take off at 8:00AM, at Santa Claus Lane (where Padaro ends) 8:30AM to meet us at Bates at 9:00.

The goal of the Cycling Committee is to hold weekly social meetup rides that are open to cyclists of all levels and abilities. Our rides are typically designed to have multiple start points and route segments and a destination that will allow us to relax and chat with our fellow Newcomers and guests after the ride. These rides are 'No Drop', so no riders will be left behind. Whether you are a beginning rider or a Tour de France champion come out and join us as there will usually be something for everyone.
