CYCLING

TOUR DE SANTA BARBARA WEST TO EAST         WITH ROMERO CANYON OPTION -        20 or 25 MILES

Sunday, May 8th --  9:00AM - 12:00PM

This is one of our only rides that has only one option. This time we begin our ride at the Garden Street Parking Lot on the ocean side of Cabrillo at 9:00AM and head up Caesar Chavez Street past the Mission and up to Mountain Drive. After an enjoyable ride along Mountain Drive we head downhill and meander our way through Montecito and toward Butterfly Beach. We finish at the best place to eat—depending on the time, East Beach Tacos by the batting cages on Milpas or Renaud’s in Montecito.

The route does have a relatively long uphill climb but is suitable for road, hybrids and for those that wish a little assist, eBikes. Once we get to Mountain Drive we will have beautiful views of our great city and the Channel islands. Overall the ride is 20 miles long.

The goal of the Cycling Committee is to hold weekly social meetup rides that are open to cyclists of all levels and abilities. Our rides are typically designed to have multiple start points and route segments and a destination that will allow us to relax and chat with our fellow Newcomers and guests after the ride. These rides are 'No Drop', so no riders will be left behind. Whether you are a beginning rider or a Tour de France champion come out and join us as there will usually be something for everyone.
