CYCLING: SANDPIPER VIA CATHEDRAL OAKS WITH OLD SAN MARCOS OPTION

Sunday, March 27th --  8:30AM - 12:00PM

This week's ride takes us out Cathedral Oaks Road to the beautiful Sandpiper Golf course. There are two options:

Option A: Starts at 8:30 am at Tucker's Grove. Make a right out of the parking lot and take the first right to Old San Marcos Road (OSM) for a challenging but beautiful 3-mile climb with many ocean views. This is a no-drop ride with two stops along the way and climbs 1648 ft. with many steep sections that range between 10% and 20% grades. The turnaround point is at the intersection with Rt. 154. The descent takes us back to the Tucker's Grove parking lot to meet up with the Option B group.                                          Check Out The Ride Map!

Option B: Starts at 10:00 am. This is a mostly flat ride and also has an option to go up Glen Annie Road for a gentle ascent through a lovely valley of avocado and orange groves.

The goal of the Cycling Committee is to hold weekly social meetup rides that are open to cyclists of all levels and abilities. Our rides are typically designed to have multiple start points and route segments and a destination that will allow us to relax and chat with our fellow Newcomers and guests after the ride. These rides are 'No Drop', so no riders will be left behind. Whether you are a beginning rider or a Tour de France champion come out and join us as there will usually be something for everyone.

If any of the three following conditions is present on the day of the event, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE EVENT.  

1. Within the last 10 days, you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or had a test confirming you have the virus;
   
2. You live in the same household with, or have had close contact with someone who in the past 14 days has been in isolation for COVIC-19 or had a test confirming he or she has the virus;
