Maria Ygnacio Creek Hike

Sunday, February 23, 2020

The Maria Ygnacio Creek Trail in Goleta offers a relaxing 3.5-mile round-trip hike on a paved path shared with cyclists.

Elevation gain is 244 feet.

Our hike will begin and end at University Drive and Ribera Drive, where there is plenty of street parking. You can reach University Drive from either Patterson Avenue or North San Marcos Road.

We’ll walk along the creek much of the way. The trail goes under Highway 101 and Hollister Avenue and there are several bridges across the creek. We’ll cross – but not walk on – the San Antonio Trail, and the hike turns around at the Atascadero Creek Trail.

Afterward, we’ll gather at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 5745 Calle Real, near the Trader Joe’s in the Calle Real Shopping Center.

Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water and sunblock.
