CYCLING - Goleta Beach to Padero

  • August 18, 2019
  • 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Santa Barbara

The goal of the Cycling Committee is to hold weekly social meetup rides that are open to cyclists of all levels and abilities. Our rides are typically designed to have multiple start points and route segments and a destination that will allow us to relax and chat with our fellow Newcomers and guests after the ride. These rides are 'No Drop', so no riders will be left behind. Whether you are a beginning rider or a Tour de France champion come out and join us as there will usually be something for everyone. Let us know you are riding by clicking the link below.

Yes, I am Riding!

This week's ride has several options and takes us along the Obern Bike Trail, Santa Barbara Harbor, Butterfly Beach, Summerland and Padaro Lane. There are three options for riding 13, 29 or 38 miles from Goleta Beach to Padaro Beach. The starting points are at Goleta Beach, the intersection of Modoc and Encore Dr. (at the Obern Trail Head), and the Andree Clark Bird Refuge. Check out the ride map.

Start time is 8:00 AM at Goleta Beach, 8:25 AM at Modoc and Encore Dr., and 9 AM at the Andree Clark Bird Refuge. The coffee stop will be at the Padero Beach Grill. For those riding the long 38-mile route the total climbing is 1,100 feet.

Helmets required! Bring lots of water. Ride cancelled if raining.
