Gaviota Wind Caves Hike

Hike, make friends, and get to know a Santa Barbara trail! RSVP so we know to look for you at the trailhead.

March's hike takes us to the Gaviota sandstone wind caves and tunnels. We will continue past the rock formations to an overlook with views of the ocean and mountains.

The hike is moderate, 4 miles round trip, and has 500 feet of elevation gain. The hike may be challenging for inexperienced hikers.

When: Saturday, March 30th at 9:00 AM
Where: Meet at Home Depot, 6975 Market Place Dr., Goleta

We will meet at Home Depot to arrange carpooling and leave at 9:10 AM to drive to the trailhead. Take 101 north to Gaviota State Park. Make a left turn off of 101 at Gaviota Beach Rd. After a quarter of mile turn right onto Hollister Ranch Rd at the fork. Park on the side of the road after 500 feet.

Bring: Plenty of water, sturdy hiking shoes, and a snack and/or lunch to enjoy.
