HOT SPRINGS CANYON

This is a variation of the Hot Springs Loop after the fire and floods.  We hike up Hot Springs, east to the McMenemy trail and north on the Saddle Rock.  We then take a lesser known connector trail SW back down the side of the Saddle Rock ridge line to the Old Hot Springs road.  We then turn left and continue south to the McMenemy trail, west to the Hot Springs trail and south the trailhead.  This loop is ~2.5 miles. Hiking Time: Approx. 2 hours (go at your pace). Difficulty: Moderate.  Optionally, you may wish to make a loop around the top of Hot Springs on a connector to Cold Springs trail, returning to the Hot Springs trail.

DIRECTIONS: From either direction on Fwy 101, exit at Olive Mill Road and turn toward the mountains. Continue up Olive Mill Rd 1.0 mile, crossing East Valley Rd where name changes to Hot Springs Rd. After another 1.0 mile turn left on East Mountain Drive. Go 0.2 miles to trail head.  Six parking spaces on the right, more down the street on the left.
