International Consequences of State Failure

Prof. Coggins will discuss the impact of failed states on their regions, on the world, and on the US. She is currently collecting data on such failed states and works extensively on countries like Somalia, North Korea, Colombia, and Afghanistan. Not only will she share some of her early findings with us;  we will also hear first-hand how research is done in places that most would consider too dangerous to visit.

Prof. Coggins is an Associate Professor, UCSB. Previously she was an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and Asan Institute for Policy Studies.
