Buena Vista trail to Romero Canyon.   North on the Buena Vista trail, right at a split to an uphill connector to meet the Romero catway. We then go about a mile to a bench overlooking Montecito and the Ocean.  For those who wish to continue, the trail map shows a loop at the end that gives a 5 mile hike.  This is a scenic hike.  Since most of this hike is out-and-back, you may turn around at any time.

Google Maps directions to the trailhead, 1550 Park Lane, Montecito, CA 93108

Directions: From the 101, go north, toward the mountains, on San Ysidro to Hwy 192.  Go right on 192 for @.8mile, then take a left on Park Ln.  Go .3 miles and bear to the right to stay on Park Ln at Mountain Dr. junction.  Go .6 miles further on Park Ln to the Buena Vista trailhead on the left.  There is good parking before and after the trailhead.
