Where
Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve and Seal Sanctuary

Come for an enjoyable walk along the Carpinteria Bluffs with its variety of wildlife, coastal sage, and eucalyptus groves. Take in the beauty of the coastline, Santa Ynez Mountains, and the Channel Islands.  We will stop at the Seal Sanctuary Overlook where we can delight in the community of seals at play or asleep.  After the walk, we will continue our socializing at a local coffee spot.

This is a relaxing walk of approximately three miles round trip with some mild uneven terrain.  Bathrooms are available.

Binoculars are optional for better viewing of the seals. Bring water and sunblock.

Dogs are allowed on leash on the trails and the beach, but not at the Seal Rookery Overlook.

No need to register.  Just show up.  The walk is cancelled if it is raining.

Directions:  Take 101 Freeway South. Exit at Bailard Avenue (Exit 85).  Turn right and drive one block south toward the end of the road and beach.  The parking lot is right there. Look for the red and white Newcomers sign.
