Drawing Political Districts That Avoid “Hyper-Partisan” Gerrymandering

Does someone else’s vote count more than yours?  Can Republicans and Democrats work together to assure voter parity?  Do the most recent U.S. Supreme Court cases impact how lines will be drawn?

Join us in learning from Commissioner Jodie Filkins Webber, Chair of California's Citizen Redistricting Commission, and Commissioner Gabino Aguirre about how California attempts to achieve voter parity and nonpartisan redistricting despite the party affiliation of Commission members.

We will be meeting in the auditorium on the second floor of the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum.  One must climb a set of stairs to reach the venue.  The museum will be open at 6:30 pm so that attendees will have an opportunity to take a peek at the museum exhibits.

As a bonus, we have been advised that the doors will be opening open at 6:30 pm should you wish to take a quick look around the museum before the program starts.
