We will be riding along the beautiful Pacific Ocean, in what is a relatively flat and very enjoyable ride. Our planned departure is from the Bates Road Parking Lot off the 101 at 9:30 AM.  Please try to arrive by 9:15 AM so we can ready to roll on time.

Option 1: Stop for a break at Faria Beach, and return, for a total of 14 miles round trip.  The ride is 4 miles along the bike path next to the 101, with great views of the ocean and Channel Islands. Then it is past all the RVs.  Very smooth ride.  It’s flat, no hills. There is a snack shop at Faria Beach Park but is closed this time of year, so bring a snack.

Option 2: After a brief stop at Faria, keep on riding to the Ventura Pier on Highway 1 (PCH). It is 28 miles round trip.  Along Highway 1, there is a good bike lane, very smooth, little traffic, then a long bike path into Ventura.  We’ll have some snacks and drinks at the Sandbox Coffeehouse in Ventura (204 E Thompson Blvd)  This is also a very flat ride.

Option 3: For the truly adventurous who want a longer ride we can meet at the Andree Clark Bird Refuge at 8:15 AM to add an additional 24 miles round trip.

Directions to Starting Point:  Get off the 101 at the Bates Road, exit 83, just past Carpinteria.  When you get to the stop sign at the bottom of the off-ramp, go straight across the street to enter the parking lot.  It says Rincon Point.  We will be sharing the parking lot with plenty of surfers, since this is the jumping off point for the famous Rincon Beach (as in Surfing Safari, Beach Boys).

Helmets required.  Have plenty of water with you. Rain postpones.

Hope you can join us!
