Explore the Santa Ynez River Valley on Santa Rosa Road between the cities of Buellton and Lompoc.  This ride has beautiful valley views as you ride along a winding rural canyon road through ranch and farm lands, mini-mansions, and beautiful wineries.  This low traffic road has expansive views you can only get in a valley setting.  There are 2 options with Option “A” group meeting up with the Option “B” group at Sanford Winery and continue down Santa Rosa Road. As we will turn around at the end of Santa Rosa Road/Pacific Coast Highway and return on the same road, you can really tailor the ride to your own skill and turn around at any point. We will stop on the way back at Sanford Winery (very nice wines) and have a picnic lunch (so bring something to eat) Carpooling is encouraged.

Option “A”: Starts 9:30 at Buellton Park & Ride.  Drive north on 101 towards Buellton, take the Santa Rosa Road exit go under the freeway and turn Right towards Buellton.  Continue on Santa Rosa Road for a ½ mile and park at the Park & Ride on the right-hand side of the road.  Total drive time 45 minutes from Santa Barbara.  For those that wish to carb-up before the ride (breakfast), there’s Ellen’s Danish Pancake House one exit further in Buellton.  Total distance of the ride is 35 miles (Moderate - Difficult)

Option “B”: Starts 10:00 at Sanford Winery. Drive north on 101 towards Buellton, take the Santa Rosa Road exit go under the freeway and turn Left toward Lompoc (away from Buellton).  Continue on Santa Rosa Road towards Lompoc for 6 to 7 miles and Sanford Winery is on your Left. Park at the winery and the “A” Group will meet up with you. Total drive time 50 minutes from Santa Barbara. Total distance of the ride is 20 miles (Easy to Moderate, but you can adjust the ride at any time)

Helmets required.  Have plenty of water with you. Rain postpones.

Hope you can join us, please let us know if you can make it and which option you plan to ride.
