Social Hiking At a Relaxed Pace

Ellwood Bluffs/Butterfly Preserve

Join us as we hike the Ellwood Bluffs Trail at the Santa Barbara Shores County Park.  We will hike across flat grasslands and through eucalyptus groves, where we might see some of the thousands of Monarch butterflies that migrate this time of year. Perhaps the most spectacular part of the hike is walking along an 80 foot cliff at the Pacific Ocean's edge.  Breath deeply as you take in the ocean views.  

Dogs on leash are welcome.

Minimal elevation gain. No rough terrain. No rush. Just nature, fun and conversation. 

No need to register.  Just show up.  Downpour cancels, but we'll go ahead in light rain. Bring water and sunblock.  

After the hike we will meet nearby to socialize.

Directions: From Santa Barbara drive north on 101.  Exit at Glen Annie Road/Storke Road and turn left.  Drive 1/4 mile to Hollister Ave. and turn right. In 1.5 miles, turn left at the stoplight into the Santa Barbara County Park parking lot, directly across from Ellwood School. Park anywhere in the park's parking lot.
