On Sunday, October 15, join us at two of the animal shelters in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara Animal Services is one of three shelters in Santa Barbara County and houses dogs and miscellaneous critters such as birds, rodents and reptiles. (Don’t worry, no one will be forced to visit any animal they don’t want to!) The Animal Shelter Assistance Program is a private nonprofit that cares for all the cats that come through the county system, a mix of strays and owner relinquished cats, and facilitates their adoptions. ASAP just welcomed 42 cats from Houston area shelters as part of the effort to support animals impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
At this event, we will hear about the work these vital organizations do and about the many volunteer opportunities available, such as dog walking, cat care and socialization. There may just be a kitten or two to pet! and as if that wasn't enough, continental breakfast will be served.
