The Old Rattlesnake Trail

Hike 

Join fellow Young Professionals for a late morning hike on the Old Rattlesnake Trail. The hike will be about 3.5 miles long round trip with a 1000 ft elevation gain. Hiking time is 2-2.5 hours. Difficulty is moderate to strenuous. No need to register, just show up! Don't forget to bring water. We'll meet Sunday morning at 10am at the trail head.  Open to Newcomers, friends, and well-behaved dogs. Optional lunch afterwards at a local restaurant.

DIRECTIONS: The trail head is at the Los Conoas stone bridge over Rattlesnake Creek.


1. From either direction, Exit 101 at Mission and head toward mountains.


2. Three blocks past State, turn left on Garden Street

3. Go two blocks and turn right on Los Olivos.

4. Pass the Santa Barbara Mission on your left, staying in the left lane into Mission Canyon Rd.

5. Reaching dead-end at Foothill Drive (Hwy 192) turn right.

6. After 0.1 miles, turn left on continuation of Mission Canyon.

7. Go 0.5 miles to Las Conoas. Turn sharply to right and follow Skofield Park sign.

8. Take winding road 1.2 miles to the trailhead, by the stone bridge. There are parking pullouts on the right just before the bridge. There is also parking across the bridge in Skofield Park.
