CYCLING – TO:  VENTURA or Faria Beach Park – Saturday 12/10/2016 9:30 AM

.​Depart from the Bates Road parking lot off the 101 at 9:30 AM.  Try to arrive by 9:15, please.

 Option 1: Stop for a break at Faria, and return, for a total of 14 miles round trip.  The ride is along the relatively new bike path along the 101, with great views of the ocean and Channel Islands. It’s flat, no hills.

Option 2: After a brief stop at Faria, keep on riding to Ventura, past all the RVs on Highway 1, 28 miles round trip.  We’ll have some snacks and drinks at the Sandbox Coffeehouse in Ventura.  This is also a pretty flat ride.

Directions:  Get off the 101 at the Bates Road exit, just past Carpinteria.  When you get to the stop sign at the bottom of the off-ramp, go straight across the street to enter the parking lot, which we will be sharing with lots of surfers, since this is the parking lot for the famous RINCON beach (as in Surfing Safari, Beach Boys).
