DUE TO ROADWORKS ON 154  AND EXPECTED HOT CONDITIONS, THE “Tequepis” Trail HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A COLD SPRINGS (SHADED) HIKE:

COLD SPRINGS -REGULAR ROUTE– 8:30 AM.

Shaded route with sweeping views of Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands. Aproximately 5 miles with 1,200 elevation: 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours(go at ones own pace). Moderate-Strenuous. 

  DIRECTIONS: Meet at the Cold Springs trailhead on E Mountain Dr just east of the stream crossing. There is ample street parking on weekdays. From either direction on Fwy 101, exit at Olive Mill Road and turn toward the mountains. Continue up Olive Mill Rd 1.0 mile, crossing East Valley Rd where name changes to Hot Springs Rd. After another 1.0 mile turn left on East Mountain Drive. Go 1.1 miles to trailhead on the right, just before the creek crossing.  (You’ll probably see cars & hikers when you first turn onto East Mountain Drive. That is another trailhead. (Hot Springs),  Do not stop. Continue 1.1 miles to the Cold Springs trail head.
