Lake Los Caneros: NOTE NEW START POINT

This wonderful park is a slice of rural charm just ten minutes out of downtown Santa Barbara.  The lake features a walking trail that is a favorite among the locals. The standard hike around the lake is approximately 1.5 miles, although there are options to extend the walk. Some shade, but often exposed terrain.

No climbing, just a leisurely hike. Dogs on leash are welcome. 

No need to register.  Just show up.  Downpour cancels, but we'll go ahead in light rain. Bring water and sunblock.  

After the hike we will meet nearby to socialize

Directions: NOTE NEW DIRECTIONS. WE WILL MEET AT THE LA PATERA LANE ENTRANCE Follow Highway 101 North to the Los Carneros Road exit (after the Fairview Avenue exit). Upon exiting the freeway, turn right at the light and head towards the hills. Continue to the roundabout and turn right from the roundabout onto Calle Real (not well marked). Drive ¾ mile to the first left turn (La Patera Lane). Make the left turn and proceed roughly ¼ mile to a gate on the left. Park on either side of the street.
