Discover new local wines and enjoy delicious food!

Meet one of the oldest nonprofits in town: Environmental Defense Center (EDC).

Hang out with your fellow Newcomers and have fun in the great company of EDC, elected officials and good people from throughout the south central coast.

We will start with a private reception and local wine tasting at the secluded courtyard of a luxury boutique hotel, Spanish Garden Inn. At this part of the event we will meet the Executive Director of EDC, Owen Bailey, and learn about EDC and the volunteer opportunities.

We will then proceed across the street. At the shady and fun courtyard of EDC, we will have more wine, taste locally produced food, enjoy live music and will meet the groups supported by EDC. There will be over 100 local community members attending too. 

This is your way to discover "hidden gems" of courtyards in Santa Barbara, meet EDC and the local people.

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS: Please do not park at the hotel. Please use street parking. There is also parking by the Lobero Theater.

The program areas include climate and energy, protecting open space and wildlife, clean water, and the Santa Barbara Channel. EDC primarily works within Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.
