Where?

San Antonio Creek Trail at Tucker’s Grove

1 ½ + miles round trip. This is a very easy walk, but has a enough distance to feel like a hike. Great for kids and pets (leashed during walk) as well. Many people use this trail for jogging or other daily exercise.  No rough terrain. No rush. Just nature, fun and conversation. There is approximately 300ft. elevation gain – gradual and easy to do.

Optional extra mile with short up/down hill to do a last-chance exploration of an area that looks like an upcoming development.  If that doesn't interest you, maybe take your dog to the adjacent off-leash canine play area, or your kids to the Tucker’s Grove playground.

After the optional walk, we’ll hang out for a while in the picnic area enjoying BYO snacks. (If it’s too crowded, we can head somewhere else.)

No walk if it is raining. No need to register – just show up. Bring water and sunblock.  Wear comfortable shoes.

Directions: From Santa Barbara drive northbound on Highway 101 to the Turnpike exit in Goleta. Turn right and drive 0.6 miles north to Cathedral Oaks. Drive straight through the intersection into Tucker’s Grove County Park. Curve right and continue through the park and across San Antonio Creek to the last parking lot. IMPORTANT: You may think you are in the last parking lot when you see what looks like an exit gate. There's another parking lot after the gate. Keep going, and you will see a sign saying "Kiwanis Meadows". THAT'S the parking lot you want.
