Supper & Star Gazing!

Join Girl's Night Out for a special night of star gazing at the Westmont College Observatory, which is open for FREE public viewing every 3rd Friday of the month at 7:30 PM, weather permitting. 

We'll meet at Stella Mar (50 Los Patos Way, Santa Barbara) at 5:30 PM for happy hour and a bite to eat. Then we'll head up to Westmont College Observatory at 7:30 PM. 

The Observatory is located at 955 La Paz Road, Santa Barbara. The Keck Telescope is housed in the observatory between Russell Carr Field and the track and field/soccer complex. Free parking is available near the baseball field.

The Westmont College Observatory was dedicated June 1st, 1957. The main dome features a 16.5'' reflector which was made and donated by George Carroll.  It serves as one of the observing sites for the Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit, a community based interest group that holds monthly meetings at the observatory site. Every third Friday of the month, the SBAU conducts open viewing nights to which the public is invited, to observe the night sky.
