Lawrence of Arabia is a true story based on an inordinately complex man who has been labeled everything from hero, to charlatan, to sadist. Thomas Edward Lawrence blazed his way to glory in the Arabian desert, then sought anonymity as a common soldier under an assumed name. The film stars  Peter O’Toole in the title role. It is widely considered one of the greatest and most influential films in the history of cinema. The dramatic score by Maurice Jarre and the Super Panavision 70 cinematography by Freddie Young are also highly acclaimed. The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won seven in total including Best Director, Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing, and Best Picture. Don’t miss this 1962 classic on the big screen.

Please join us for dinner at Saigon Restaurant, on State Street, at 5:15. This will give us a chance to socialize before the movie. After dinner we can walk to the theatre. It is not possible to reserve seats, but you can purchase general admission tickets ($10) on your way to dinner and if we all arrive as a group, we’ll be able to sit together.

There is no need to pay of this event on-line, but you do need to register so that we can let the restaurant know how many people will be attending.
