West Fork Cold Springs Trail to (above or below), Tangerine Falls.  A new hike for Happy Hikers.  8:30AM. Bring lots of water.  No hike if raining. No need to register, just show up!  This hike will give hikers two options:  The hike to the base of the falls is less difficult.  From the trail head it is just over 2 miles total distance, it is not steep but the trail does go over large rocks near the base of the falls.  The trail to the top of Tangerine Falls is longer, over 3miles total and much steeper, (strenuous).  The west fork trail splits and either route is available.  Both views are special, especially if water is flowing!  DIRECTIONS: Meet at the Cold Springs trailhead on E Mountain Dr., just east of the stream crossing. There is ample street parking on weekdays. From either direction on Fwy 101, exit at Olive Mill Road and turn toward the mountains. Continue up Olive Mill Rd 1.0 mile, crossing East Valley Rd where name changes to Hot Springs Rd. After another 1.0 mile turn left on East Mountain Drive. Go 1.1 miles to trailhead on the right, just before the creek crossing.  (You’ll probably see cars & hikers when you first turn onto East Mountain Drive. That is another trailhead.  Do not stop.
