  • Santa Barbara Mission Tour for Newcomers – Saturday May 16, 2015

One of the historical gems in our city is the Santa Barbara Mission founded in 1786. It is called the “Queen of the Missions” and it is the only Mission that has had continual religious practice at the site. Come join us for a docent-led tour for 1 ½ hours to explore the history, art, and architecture of this famous landmark.

We will meet in the picnic area just off the upper end of the parking lot at 8:45 am to enjoy some breakfast snacks and greet one another. The tour will start at 9:15am and each docent will have a group size of about 15. The tour will include viewing the chapel, the inner gardens, the cemetery, and the historical relics in the museum. The tour will end at 11:15 am.
