Enjoy an invigorating hike with the reward being a beautiful sunset overlooking Montecito and the beautiful coastline surrounding Santa Barbara. 

We will do a 40 to 50 minute hike, depending on your pace.  Our destination is the McMenemy Bench, which sits above Montecito with wide views up and down the coast, as well as a peak into the backcountry.

Once at the bench we will have a pot-luck style happy hour, so plan to bring a finger food and beverage to share, as well as a trail appropriate vessel to drink from. 

After enjoying the sunset we will have an easy 30 minute night hike downhill back to the cars. If you have not done a night hike before, you will be in for a treat! You will need a small flashlight or headlamp for this part of the hike.

SUMMARY OF WHAT TO BRING:

 > a cup for yourself

 > a finger food and drink to share

 > water for yourself, the hike in will make you thirsty

 > a flashlight or headlamp, one per person

 > LAYERS - when the sun goes down it will get chilly 

DIRECTIONS: 

From 101 heading south from SB, take the San Ysidro exit and turn left.

At the light at East Valley Rd. turn right.

Next you will make a left on Park Lane. If you get to Sheffield you have gone too far. 

Turn left again at East Mountain Drive.

Park at the end of the road. The trailhead is at the end of the road and is marked by a sign.
