The Chamber Music Making committee was formed to bring together people who enjoy playing chamber music in small group settings.  We have a core group that meets weekly but we always looking for additional musicians/vocalists to join us.

By "chamber music," we mean European-tradition art music, played by amateurs, where each player is responsible for their own part.  This comprises an enormous repertory of beautiful music that's great fun to play: all we need are partners on the other parts.

Why join us?  Playing chamber music will make you a stronger musician.  You have a new reason to practice regularly, so as not to disappoint your partners.  You learn to listen carefully to your own part as well as your partners' parts.  You have your partners in turn listening to you, and guiding your playing.  You end up learning about instruments other than your own.

Essentially, though, it's just great to meet other people who dig Beethoven as much as you do. We meet weekly in a private home in Santa Barbara.  If you would like to join us, please register and we’ll provide the location.  You can also email Kathryn Hinsch at khinsch(at)mazama.net for more information.

Only first time attenders need to register for this event (so don’t be concerned if it looks like no one is registered – the event is happening!)
