Join us for a guided tour of the studios of two local Santa Barbara artists. Local gallery owner Jane Deering will be our host as we visit two artists to see their studios and hear them talk about their work. 

The Artists:

Connie Connally recently relocated to Santa Barbara, and is represented by the LewAllen Gallery of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Recently, she has been included in group shows at Sullivan Goss Gallery, Santa Barbara, and is also included in the permanent collections of The Longview Museum of Art, Texas; and The Art Museum of South Texas at Texas A&M University. 

Hilary Brace is renowned for her charcoal drawings and photographs. New York Times critic Ken Johnson wrote of her charcoal drawings ‘once in a while you come across an art of such refined technique that it seems the product of sorcery more than human craft.’ 

Following our studio visits, for those who would like, we’ll continue discussions over lunch at restaurant Zatoon located at 209 East Canon Perdido Street (corner of Santa Barbara Street). Both Connie Connally and Hilary Brace will join us for lunch. Each Newcomer pays for their own lunch.
