Buena Vista and Edison Catway Trail (3 Benches)

**West portion of Park Ln is closed so meet on east side of the trailhead

    No Hike if Raining

This hike begins at the Buena Vista trailhead on Park Lane, takes a right at the Romero sign goes up to the Edison Catway via a series of switchbacks to the third bench for some great views, retrace your steps to find the other the top 2 benches.

This is an out and back hike with a total distance of ~3 miles with an 850ft elevation gain.  Alltrails considers this a generally challenging route that takes about 2 hours. The hike is primarily exposed with some poison oak close to the trail so long pants are advisable along with hiking poles for the steep downward portion on the return trip. The rewards are great views and some benches to sit and have a snack.

This is a shorter hike than normal so we can stop again for coffee and croissants at Pierre LaFond in Montecito afterwards if you'd like.

This hike is quite exposed - bring lots of water!

Validation Ale is happy to welcome us back to one of our favorite TGIF venues! Validation Ale is a craft brewery restaurant with a unique concept that engages customers in decided what is brewed next. Validated beer is pitted against a new vying recipe of similar type to see if the new brew should take over as the primary tap.

Unexpected for a local brewery, the space is quite handsome, boasting curved walnut panels, massive doors and windows, and clean modern restrooms.  And because no one likes fighting for a bartender’s attention, Validation Ale allows you to start, manage, and/or close your tab by using one of the QR codes on the bar and tables. And thanks to the reverse-osmosis tap on the wall, you never have to ask for water. “I’ve been home brewing for 12 years, and I’ve always wanted a brewery,” says the owner Brian. “But whether you’re a beer nerd like me or you’ve only had Coors your whole life, you’re welcome either way. We want this to be about community.”

TGIF events are a great way to start the weekend in a fun, relaxing setting. At TGIF, you will make new friends, catch up with existing friends and get to know the local restaurants and bars. With no registration required, the events are open Newcomers and graduates...and attendees can bring a friend along. Come join us Newbies!

This is a pay-as-you-go event. Please note that tips are not included in the price of food an beverages. Kindly tip your servers and bartenders when you order food & drink (SBNC recommends tipping 20% or more). We want to leave a positive in the community at all times and remain consistent with the Club's values, by treating everyone with respect.

To help us assure the best experience for all at our very well attended TGIF events, please refrain from bringing pets and dogs (other than Service Animals).
