The Corner Tap has quickly become a Mesa favorite, offering an energetic, welcoming vibe that’s perfect for a casual hang or a lively night out. Their craft cocktail program is a standout, featuring inventive, well-balanced drinks that pair perfectly with a menu of elevated, delicious comfort food: gourmet burgers, crispy wings, and fresh, seasonal plates that go way beyond your standard pub fare. Whether you’re grabbing a seat at the bustling bar or relaxing on the patio, the combination of friendly service and a hip, social atmosphere makes it the ultimate neighborhood spot to kick back and enjoy the best of Santa Barbara’s Mesa neighborhood.

TGIF events are a great way to start the weekend in a fun, relaxing setting. At TGIF, you will make new friends, catch up with existing friends and get to know the local restaurants and bars. With no registration required, the events are open Newcomers and graduates...and attendees can bring a friend along.

This is a pay-as-you-go event. Please note that tips are not included in the price of food an beverages. Kindly tip your servers and bartenders when you order food & drink (SBNC recommends tipping 20% or more). We want to leave a positive in the community at all times and remain consistent with the Club's values, by treating everyone with respect.

To help us assure the best experience for all at our very well attended TGIF events, please refrain from bringing pets and dogs (other than Service Animals).

With extensive menu research, drink testing, and the acquisition of antiques we opened on October 24th, 2018 and after extensive cleaning and painting, we welcomed our first guests on December 5th, 2018.

Dog and people friendly, the Cruisery is the sister bar/ restaruant of The Unbearable Skee lodge - they share a kitchen but have distinct bars with vastly different vibes.

Weekend Amblers: UCSB North Campus Open Space (Registration Opens April 14) (April 25, 2026)

Join Weekend Amblers on our popular UCSB North Campus Open Space Walk, a SBNC favorite! The NCOS estuary, upland, and wetland restoration project supports a diversity of birds, fish, and wildlife, absorbs flood waters, and is adaptive to sea level rise on 136 acres of a former golf course. Two and a half miles of relatively level trails provide scenic views and great photo ops, taking us out to the beach at Coal Oil Point and back. For this walk, due to the bird habitation, especially the snowy plover nesting project on the beach and their nesting season, we are asking that dogs don't participate on this day. We hope to show you as much as 10% of the existing population of Snowy Plovers! (a threatened species) Snowys nest on the California and Oregon coast. The main entrance and parking lot for NCOS is just west of Storke Road at 6969 Whittier Drive, Goleta. Look for the red Newcomers sign and park at the Carlton-Duncan visitor plaza.

Take either Hollister or the 101 to Glen Annie/Storke Rd., Storke south to Whittier Drive (R) then north 100 yards to the parking lot and visitor plaza. It is well marked. Red Newcomer's signs will be present.

We will take a boat from Ventura Harbor to the island where you will have the choice of hiking or kayaking (or both). Everyone will need to book their own reservation for the boat directly from Island Packers. Kayakers also need to reserve their kayaks with Channel Island Kayak Center AND space on the boat for the kayak with Island Packers.

There is no food or water on the island so you will need to bring everything you need for the day. Food/snacks, drinking water, towels, hiking poles, etc. We will be exposed to the sun all day so bring: sunscreen, hats, etc.

Hikers can choose from two hikes (both out and back), one is from Scorpions Anchorage to Potato Harbor which is a moderate 5 mile hike and the second is a 7.5 mile strenuous hike from Scorpions Anchorage to Smugglers cove beach. These are trails that HH have done in the past and we will likely identify other hikes prior to the event. For more information on the hikes check here.

Join us for happy hour at M.Special Brewing Co., where great beer and great stories go hand in hand. Named after their Grandpa Emmett’s 1950s race cars — including the legendary Malloy Special that hit the Indy 500 — M.Special is a family-inspired brewery where anyone with an "M" in their name (yes, even the mailman) gets some naming cred.

Their beer lineup is as diverse as their crew, featuring the crisp M.Special American Lager, hop-forward favorites like Greatland IPA and Lazy Eye DIPA, and the smooth, malty Dozer Brown Ale. Swing by for TGIF and enjoy good vibes, great brews, and a happy hour that lives up to its name. Cheers!

Also, nestled within M. Special Brewery is the newly opened Downtown Eats if you are hungry

TGIF events are a great way to kick off the weekend in a fun, relaxing setting. At TGIF, you'll make new friends, reconnect with familiar faces, and get to know the local restaurants and bars.
Stride by the Tide: Coastal Walks (May 12, 2026)

Join fellow walkers at Hendry's Beach (aka Arroyo Burro Beach County Park) every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8:40 to walk the beach, visit, make new friends and catch up with old friends, spot whales and dolphins, and get fresh air and exercise. We'll meet at the top of the stairs down to the beach, between The Boathouse restaurant and the lifeguard stand.

Some of us walk fast, and some of us stroll. We suggest wearing appropriate shoes to walk on the beach or up to the nearby Douglas Preserve, when the tide is high.

After the walk, we will often gather at the picnic tables near our starting point, and share a snack and conversation. Hope to see you there!

TGIF: Shaker Mill (May 15, 2026)

Shaker Mill is a vibrant escape on lower State Street, perfectly capturing that breezy, indoor-outdoor California lifestyle. The atmosphere is "tropical chic," blending a fun, sunny energy with a relaxed, vacation-like vibe that makes it impossible not to unwind.

The cocktail program is equally impressive, offering expertly crafted drinks that lean into bright, refreshing flavors. Whether you’re sipping a creative riff on a classic or one of their signature tropical concoctions, the quality is top-tier. With its airy setting and lively spirit, Shaker Mill is the perfect spot for our TGIF!

TGIF events are a great way to start the weekend in a fun and relaxing setting. At TGIF you will make new friends, catch up with existing friends, and get to know the local restaurants and bars. With no registration required, the events are open to Newcomers and graduates, and attendees can bring a friend along. Come join us, Newbies!

This is a pay-as-you-go event. Please note that tips are not included in the price of food and drinks. Kindly tip your servers and bartenders when you order food and/or drinks. (SBNC recommends tipping 20% or more). We want to leave a positive impression in the Community at all times and consistent with the Club’s values treat everyone with respect.

To help us assure the best experience for all at our very well attended TGIF events, please refrain from bringing pets and dogs (other than Service Animals).

Just FYI: Shaker Mill can be a bit tough to spot because the signage that primarily shows is "Kim's SERVICE DEPT" but that is where we'll be.
