Hike At a Relaxed Pace (H.A.R.P.)
Save the Date
When: Wednesday, December 14, 2016
9:00 AM
Where:   Elings Park

HARP’s first midweek hike! Elings Park, the nation’s largest privately funded public park, offers expansive recreation areas and the intriguing Sierra Club Trail consisting of easily accessed pathways winding through brush and meadows and offering spectacular ridge-line views of Hendry's, Hope Ranch, Douglas Preserve and the Mesa plus, looking north, views of downtown and the Santa Ynez Mountains.

Total hike distance about two miles. Elevation gain is a published 300’, with most of the gain occurring in the first 10 minutes or so of the hike. The hike can be extended an additional 1/2-mile or so by visiting the Veterans Memorial Walk.

No need to register. Just show up. Restrooms are available. Bring water and sunblock. Downpour cancels. Hiking in light rain will depend on the trail conditions. After the hike, we will meet nearby to socialize.

Sorry, no dogs are permitted in Elings unless they've been enrolled in the park’s $125 “epdog” membership program.

Directions: From Las Positas Road (Route 225)  turn onto Jerry Harwin Parkway and follow it uphill to a cul de sac at the top. Park in the cul de sac and gather at the nearby Newcomers sign. See you Wednesday, December 14!
