CARPENTERIA/SANTA CLAUS LANE CYCLING

Date and Time: Saturday October 15, depart 9:30 AM.  Arrive by 9:15 please

Directions: Park at the Andree Clark Bird Refuge off Cabrillo

Trip: There are two options today. Ride either 28 miles roundtrip to the end of Carpenteria and back, or turnaround at Santa Claus Lane which is roundtrip around 16 miles. The coffee stop is Lucky Llama in Carp or the Garden Market on SC Lane.  Hills: The main hill will be the bike path in both directions at Summerland, alongside the 101. There is also a bit of a hill coming back just past the Biltmore Four Seasons.  Otherwise flat.

Mandatory: Everyone must be wearing a bike helmet.  Also, please pump up your tires. It is so much easier with hard tires!

Your takeaway from joining us:  Exercise, and socializing with great people on a nice day in the outdoors. What could be better than that?  Our speed is 11-12 mph (go faster if you like) and we always have 50% or more females on these outings.  These are social rides, not speed rides.  It’s the journey . . . . .

Questions: Bill Kyle – bill@kyleassociates.com. I’ll be sending an e-mail to the cycling list the day before to confirm that the weather is OK for our ride.
