Saturday Morning, October 22nd, 8:00 to 9:30 AM:

Everyone Welcome... Runners, Run/Walkers, and Walkers! 

We're back at Stearns Wharf this week (our old location). Meet at 8:00 AM by the restrooms near the Dolphin Fountain. Look for the red & white Newcomers sign.  Park on Anacapa Street near the Lucky Penny and walk to the wharf.  Breakfast afterwards at Lucky Penny. 127 Anacapa St!


The routes we take allow you to go as far or as short a distance as you wish. We typically run out for about half an hour, then turn around and go back to the start.  It's 4 Miles to the Bird Refuge and back, 6.5 to Butterfly Beach and back. Some of the group are training for full or half marathons and will be running long. Please run or walk any distance you feel comfortable with!

If you are joining SB Striders for the first time, email (sbstriders@sbnewcomers.org) or text Phil (503-863-7968) so we don't leave you behind if you arrive late.

Please check out the SB Striders on the Newcomers weekly events calendar, Facebook, and/or Meetup for details on where we will be meeting each Saturday. We do vary the starting points and routes sometimes.

Our core group typically includes someone from each of these paces...

  •  9-10 min/mile runners (Phil, Janice, Tony, Richard, Andy, Alex)
  •  11-12 min/mi runners (Leslie, Greg)
  •  +13 min/mi joggers or walkers (Lisa, Heather, David, Susan, Gillian)

Looking forward to seeing you.  All "Santa Barbara Newcomers Club Strider" events are free and open to the public, so feel free to bring your friends!
