NEWCOMER CYCLING MEET-UP.  (TO EXPLORE FORMING A COMMITTEE)

THIS EVENT HAS A HELMET REQUIREMENT   

On Saturday November 14, at 9:30AM,  meet at the trailhead of the Obern Bike Trail on Modac Road (the cross street is Encore Drive).  Park on Modoc or Encore.  The ride is the Obern Trail to and through Goleta State Park and UCSB, along Hollister to Sandpiper Golf Course.  Stop for drinks, food, conversation.   Then we go on Cathedral Oaks to the Maria Ignacio Bike Trial which will intersect the Obern Trail, then back to the start point on Modoc.  22 miles round trip.  Typical speed is 10 to 12 miles per hour.  This is a social ride, not a speed ride.  Anyone wanting to turn back from Goleta State Park or the start of UCSB can easily do so. Turning back from UCSB gets you a 12 mile round trip ride.  There are no hills of consequence on this ride.  (Bicycle riding has risks which each rider must personally accept, neither NEWCOMERS or Bill Kyle can be held responsible for adverse events).
