JESUSITA TRAIL TO MORENO RANCH – 8:30 AM. Hiking Distance: 3 to 4 miles round trip. Elevation gain: 300 feet. Hiking Time 2 hours (go at your pace). This hike can be extended to inspiration point for those interested.  Difficulty: moderate-easy. 

 THIS IS A GOOD HIKE TO BEGIN WITH IF YOU’RE NEW TO HAPPY HIKERS. BRING A PICNIC AND SOMETHING TO SHARE.  AFTER THE HIKE, WE CAN EAT AND VISIT AT THE PICNIC TABLES.

DIRECTIONS: Meet at Stevens Park.  Exit 101 at Las Positas and turn toward the mountains. Crossing State St., Las Positas becomes San Roque. Continue on San Roque to Calle Fresno (second stop sign after State) and turn left onto Calle Fresno. Turn right on Canon and right again at the sign for entrance to Stevens Park. If you are uncertain about the difficulty of our hikes, you might want to begin with Jesusita Trail to Moreno Ranch.  It is the easier of our hikes, with less elevation gain.  But all of our hikes have significant stretches with uneven footing.  Happy Hikers events are open to graduates of Newcomers, visitors of Newcomers, and members of the general public.  Our hikes feature good conversations and the opportunity to make new friends.
