Join Visual Arts for a day of exploring art in historical Old Town Pasadena.
Our day will begin at 9:00 am at the bird refuge as we depart from Santa Barbara on a mini-coach bus for Pasadena.
The morning will be spent at the Norton Simon Museum home to one of the world's most remarkable private art collections ever assembled.
In addition to the permanent collection we will view the current exhibition Maven of Modernism: Galka Scheyer in California. This exhibition delves into the life of Galka Scheyer the enterprising dealer responsible for the art phenomenon the "Blue Four" - Lionel Feininger, Alexi Jawlensky, Paul Klee, and Vasily Kandinsky.
Lunch will be at the Norton Simon Garden Café located in the beautiful and serene Sculpture Garden. We will pre-order boxed meals which will include bottled water, garden salad, a cookie and your choice of a sandwich or entree salad.
The afternoon will be spent at the Pasadena Museum of California Art.
The PMCA presents the breadth of California art and design through exhibitions that explore the cultural dynamics and influences that are unique to California.
